Our Story

grassroots solutions staff

The idea for a grassroots consulting firm was born when Chicago childhood friends Dan Cramer and Robert Richman (who still argue about the Cubs and the White Sox) worked on what was deemed a hopeless U.S. Senate campaign for a college professor named Paul Wellstone. That upset victory demonstrated the power of organizing from the ground up.

In 1999, grassroots solutions was formed to help nonprofits, corporations, campaigns, labor unions, and others organize, train, and mobilize grassroots supporters. Our firm is home to talented community and political organizers who have worked in all fifty states. Together we bring a whole lot of experience, a little bit of chutzpah, a commitment to caffeine, and a passion for getting our hands dirty.

The staff at grassroots solutions can be overheard debating:

  • Who will win the World Series
  • What type of bagels to buy
  • The best John Cusack flick

But we agree on one important thing:

GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING WORKS!
