Reed plans and manages electoral and advocacy programs at grassroots solutions with a particular focus on environmental advocacy and the youth movement. With a critical eye for strategy, he conducts assessments and evaluations to develop more effective long-term programs that capture the energy of campaigns and electoral entities, and helps nonprofits plan with sustainability in mind. Reed joined the Minnesota office in the spring of 2006 after spending six years on the campaign trail.
Reed’s recent client projects have included advising Energy Action Coalition on the logistics of Power Shift 2011, and working with We Are Ohio on the campaign to repeal recently passed anti-union legislation.
Reed brings a career of community organizing, campaign management, and grasstops outreach to his work at grassroots solutions. Whether it was being a part of John Kerry’s Iowa Caucus team, managing a city council election for Doug Shields in Pittsburgh, or working on Get-Out-The-Vote operations to support Senator Mary Landrieu and Congressmen Brian Higgins and Charlie Melancon, Reed was focused on the work while also learning how to engage voters as people.
Perhaps Reed’s most remarkable achievement in his political career is only being punched in the face once.
