Melissa joined grassroots solutions in January 2011 as an organizer. She works to move people to action at both the grassroots and grasstops level, with a focus on relationship-building, action-planning, leadership development, and policy advocacy.  Melissa’s clients include a large faith-based financial organization and a national environmental advocacy organization.

Melissa’s organizing background includes a stint as a field organizer for the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, and four years experience organizing around environmental and social justice issues both on and off her college campus. Melissa also conducted training and developed curriculum for youth leaders in the climate movement.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys getting to know Minnesota – mostly by taking road trips and listening to too much public radio. She is an avid reader and sharer-of-things on Google Reader.
