Katina has been in and around the grassroots solutions office since the winter of 2009 working as an organizer on several client projects. In September 2011, Katina started in her current role as a project manager. While working on civic engagement and evaluation projects, Katina also completed her Master of Public Policy degree in May 2011 at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School with concentrations in program evaluation and non-profit management. Katina specializes in quantitative and qualitative evaluation, online and offline organizing integration, project management, relationship building, research and analysis, and all things nonprofit.
Katina is currently working on an innovative and exciting statewide civic engagement project called the Minnesota Idea Open. The Open encourages everyday Minnesotans to get involved in helping to address some of the critical issues facing the state. On the side, Katina works as an independent program evaluation consultant for several local nonprofits to help improve their programs and build their internal evaluation capacity.
Prior to joining grassroots solutions, Katina worked as a research assistant, volunteered on campaigns, and interned at Congressman Keith Ellison’s office and a civil rights nonprofit in Washington, DC. She’s also had a few odd summer jobs, ranging from working at a baby clothing boutique in the nation’s capitol to doing commercial real estate property data entry at a private firm in Minneapolis. Needless to say, Katina’s happy to have found her way to grassroots solutions!
