Resumé Submission Period

We accept resumés for each session at the following times:

  • Summer session: April 16 – April 30, 2012.
  • Fall session: July 18 – July 31, 2011.
  • Winter-Spring session: October 17 – October 31, 2011.
  • J-Term session: October 17 – October 31, 2011.

About the Program

grassroots solutions has internship opportunities available in our Minneapolis office near the University of Minnesota campus for motivated individuals interested in learning more about grassroots strategies and field organizing, advocacy, training and evaluation. Activities predominantly consist of direct organizing tasks, but may also include:

  • Conducting phone outreach: organizing and tracking phone call data
  • Recruiting supporters face-to-face and by phone
  • Assisting with various types of logistics
  • Interacting with attendees at events
  • Some administrative /clerical tasks such as answering incoming calls, filing, etc.
  • Research
  • Assisting client service staff
  • Conducting marketing and social media research and outreach
  • Performing data hygiene and data entry
  • Assisting with evaluations utilizing Nvivo qualitative analysis software

Requirements

Applicants should be highly motivated and outgoing with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.  Some college preferred, plus a working knowledge of MSOffice.  We like flexibility—we are a growing outfit and wear many different hats!  Applicants from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Sessions and Timelines

  • Summer sessions begin in early June and run through August. Summer interns work 20 hours per week. We accept resumés for this session: April 16 – April 30, 2012.
  • Fall sessions begin in early September and run through mid-December. Fall interns work 15 hours per week. We accept resumés for this session: July 18 – July 31, 2011.
  • Winter-Spring sessions begin in early February and run through late May. Winter-Spring interns work 15 hours per week. We accept resumés for this session: October 17 – October 31, 2011.
  • There are also full-time J-Term sessions during the month of January. We accept resumés for this session: October 17 – October 31, 2011.

Set shift hours are worked between 8:30am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Internships pay a total stipend of $595 for the session.
