On March 12, 2010, Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson signed into law a statewide public smoking bill. Today’s historic event is the result of thousands of constituent calls, letters, and stories that Kansas legislators simply could not ignore.
The Kansas House of Representatives passed the HB2221 bill on February 25, 2010. The bill restricts smoking in public places and workplaces including restaurants and bars. Kansas now joins 34 other states that have enacted smoking restrictions in public places.
